Question: Recovering anorexic with anorexic mindset... how can i change this?
(Posted by: Beautiful<3 Lies on 2009-10-10 18:42:38)
I've struggled with anorexia from ages 9- 13 severely. i was a little less than 4'10 and 59- 69 pounds. at 14 i recovered through eating a lot more, but still emotional eating. i'm 15 now and at a healthy weight, 85- 90 pounds at slightly more than 4'11. i binge eat on weekends (2000 calories) and starve on week days (less than 700 with lots of exercise 3 days and 2 days of cheerleading where i eat 1000). i am iin this awful cycle. i always get to about 85 pounds by friday, then I'm 89 on Sunday and i cry my eyes out. i know I'm not anorexic, but i think my mindset still is. its just that i cant eat the low amount i want to because my parents are watchiing, and i'm an advanced all star cheerleader. how can i stop, or even want to ( idk why, but i love feeling so thin on fridays, but i feel just as bad on my sundays as i do good on Fri.)? |

Just realize that God made us in all shapes and sizes. 89 pounds is still really, really thin. I got down to 95 pounds (at 5'3 ") in high school. After graduation, I discovered ice cream and discovered I liked eating! :) At times, I feel as you do (bad for gaining weight, etc.). But you know, there are people out there who can't even walk or who are badly burned and would love to be you just for one day. So stop comparing yourself to others, as hard as it may be, and be grateful for all of the blessings in your life, and please do not starve yourself. You will stunt your growth. I grew 2 inches in college. Just think how much taller I would have been if I had not starved myself during high school. Also, young people have such high metabolisms--You seriously do not need to watch your calorie intake, especially since you are a cheerleader and are always burning calories in that way. Have fun! Eat! And good luck! |

Think about helping other people than hurting yourself... |

My young nephew sat picking at his food at the dinner table. My father asked him, "Do you want to serve in the army one day as your father does "? My nephew responded, yes! My father then said to him, "If you want to serve in the army then you have to eat what is given to you ". There's nothing clinical about eating. Counting calories will only make your condition worse. Stop counting the peas on your plate and start just eating them knowing that you need to eat them or you can't function. |

I dont know all your details but-- I know its about conrol.. People/ parents do mean things or lie to manipulate. They just want the reaction so they can get high feel good from it. The words are not true. You can talk to me or Google "Emotional Abuse " and see all the definitions and see its all true. Knowing the truth is the step to freedom from pain. They are the ones who have problems not you. When you have a bad past/ rejection it lets other things start. Cutting, OCD, Anxiety, panic attacks, hearing voices can all come from a tramautic past. Its opens doors to the negative and they start to dwell closeby. Hurting people also hurt themselves. Realizing you were really abused/ traumatized is the 1st step in all this. Then later praying and realizing whos stronger (you/ God will) stop the negative forces who are at work. Google " Emotional Abuse " Google " Deliverance prayers " 2. Demons are fallen angels, angels who rebelled against God. Demons are evil, deceptive, and destructive. According to 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, demons masquerade as “angels of light” and as “servants of righteousness.” Appearing as a “ghost” and impersonating a deceased human being definitely is a disguise that demons use as well as other things like aliens wolves etc. No you don't have schizophrenia. Even those suffering with mild schizophrenia are not able to distinguish between reality and fantasy. God helps anyone even if they dont know him. 1. Play Christian music. 2. Say get out in Jesus name in each room. 3. Throw away Ouija boards. 4. Dont consult mediums or talk to spirits it will make it worse. 5.. They are weak and God helps ne one who asks no matter who you are. If you have tried witchcraft/ ghost communication you can reject it in Jesus name and ask forgiveness easily |
