Question: Would you say the mindset of hypnosis is the same as meditation?

They are similar. However they are also completely different things. Hypnosis sedates you and causes a more relaxed state of mind, relieving stress and making sleep easier. Meditation on the other hand relaxes the mind rather than the body, allowing you to become more detached from your body temporarily, giving a similar effect to dissociative drugs and allowing for a greater perception that you cannot normally obtain while the other senses are functioning. It's about the same, yes. When under hypnosis, you are simply in a state of very deep relaxation. You are still conscious and aware of your surroundings, and can refuse any suggestions made to you. And when you come out of it, you feel refreshed as though you've had a nice nap.
