Question: How to change your mindset about food?
(Posted by: Errrca! on 2009-01-24 22:27:11)
I have definently been guilty of eating when I wasn't really hungry, and I want to know how do you stop yourself from eating out of boredom, sadness, lonliness, etc. and how do you avoid temptation when you have a really bad craving?? I feel like I just need to change my mindset about food to ultimately make a life long change in my weight and health. I am not obese and I do not eat 24\7 but I'm about 10 lb overweight and I know I eat more than I need to. I have had a habit of snacking for so long that I don't know where to begin to change my relationship with food. I want to get to a point where I only eat when I am hungry, and I don't feel like eating just because I am watching TV or something... I'm not saying I expect to never have a cookie once in awhile, but overall I am trying to limit my caloric intake to ONLY when I really need to eat. How do you change your habits to do something like this?? |
