Question: Acne >> low self-esteem :(?

Im only 13 and I've been breaking out alot since last year (7th grade). My skin breaks out a lot in the T- zone area, especially my chin. I tried Acnefree and Neutrogena but sadly those cleansers just made it even worse!! Since it's the summer right now, I thought by getting a break and not stressing much from school would make my skin clearer. I was wrong. My skin has NOT improved, instead its gotten worse than before! I cant help touching/ picking on my face even though i know it would just make it worse.. I've been avoiding meeting friends in public, going to the mall, etc because i feel like a monster with all this acne on my face :( btw my skin is really oily!

Omg- I'm 13 2 and my acne was HORRIBLE. But, ever sense I got Mary Kay teenager skin cleansor, my skin has improved so much! I think they have a website, cheack it out. My sister sales their products, and so thats how I got mine. Check it out. At first, it hurts. But the second time, it makes your skin so soft and helps ur acne.

Stop picking your face, thats your problem. Use the meds they will make your skin cleaner. Or go to a dermatologist and have them give u meds and advice. they will prescribe some strong stuff.

Don't worry about it. It'll leave as you get older. I'm older now but once met a girl with lots of acne scars on her face. She was shy but one of the best women I have ever met. I still miss her. Sorry but I lost touch with her but she was always a good friend. True Beauty is on the inside. Real friends don't care.

I don't want to seem lame but it has a lot to do with that age your at and all the hormonal activity going on.I'm a guy and my acne hit when I was 15...it really hit me.....I look at my yearbook picture and from 14 to 15 I look completely different.It was a bad time for me anyway,parents divorcing,etc and it's years ago but I still remember how it made me feel so I can relate to how you feel too.Acne is a real bummer but you can only do the best you can and ride it through.Go to a good doctor who can give you the latest remedies to try.By time I was 17 it was all almost gone for me and at graduation I think I looked pretty handsome.Hey,remember that the more you are self conscious the more other people will detect this.So hold your confidence together and really try to believe that acne for most all teens is temporary so it can be a good time for you to learn to deal with some naive adversity from others and become a stronger person.Don't freak out on it.Remember things can be worse than just acne.Good luck!

Try hitting your local healthfood store. They make this anti-acne tea tree oil stuff. It works really well. For some people, that harsher stuff can strip ALL oil away. When you do this to skin, it responds by making EXTRA oil and then doooom. Try that or a more gental cleanser. Then, STOP TOUCHING IT. Believe me, I understand. I was exactly the same. It was compulsive to touch it. My face and even my arms broke out. Then, I just...stopped it. Do I have perfect skin? No. Am I totally average, yes. I'll take it! Stop...touching....it. Actually, I think all the compulsive went to tweasing my eyebrows. I don't wanna make it sound like I have super willpower. I don't. I just started doing that and left my skin alone more. Then, it got better
