If u wanna gain more confidence ....bt in which field.....try to kick a dog....if u did it then i think u r confident...

Try a session or two with a private psychotherapist if you can afford it ( Mine cost £25 a session UK ) you will find it a great help knowing the causes of your lack of confidence. I found it very enlightening ! Don't think it is cissy to use a therapist as the top people do so.
