Self esteem and confidence building classes for adults?
im a 24 year old female,ive been a stay home mum since 18,did not complete school and have never had a job as ive always been supported by my partner.I've recently seperated from my partner and i do not want to raise my children on government money..i want to work and support my family but ive always suffered with low self esteem and low confidence....this is why i did not finish school.I want to obtain a degree at uni and become a midwife....however i will not succeed without some type of help....i'd rather be run over by a bus then actually being in a social situation like uni or any kind of job...this is a severe problem and i need help..i do not know where to start but i have to deal with it now no matter how scared i am...ive heard of classes that help with this kind of thing...but i dont know where to start looking..ive searched the internet but can not find what im looking for..any help or advice is appreciated
Side effect of confidence building tape??
I recently bought a tape for improving self confidence. I started listening to it a week ago. It has worked wonders Im so much calmer, more positive, confident & assertive. However, I have also completely lost my appetite. I do need to lose a little weight but always had a good appetite and never got very far. Since I first listened to the recording, I have stopped eating breakfast completely, most days skip lunch too if I do eat it's just one biscuit . My family always have a proper meal at tea time, such as chicken, veg & mash, which I used to enjoy, but am now only able to eat 4 or 5 mouthfuls then Im full. Ive also cut out all desserts snacks & only drink water. The thought of eating greasy or fatty foods makes me feel sick. Quite simply Im just not at all hungry. It feels great, but Im concerned that this might be too sudden and extreme. I don't want to stop using the tape as it has helped tremendously and my career is taking off What do you think?

What happens at confidence building classes?
i hate public speaking, would i have to stand up and speak to a load of people?Emma i didnt say i had no confidence i said i hated public speaking. maybe u shouldnt hide behind your pc aye love. o

I'm in the process of losing 100 pounds, and I've only got about 40 left so far, and I'm still having trouble with my self esteem. Are there any books out there to help me? Thanks
If you had low self-esteem, what would you do about it? For example, go to a confidence-building group, etc?
