I hear ya!! I used to have really low self esteem myself. What really helped me was listening to other people's compliments, and actually accepting them as true instead of just thinking, "they must not really mean that, they must be saying that just to be nice ". Also, I found that a new hairstyle, some new makeup and new clothes worked wonders for helping me feel better about myself. It's hard to be down on yourself when you look your best and you know you look damn hot! Be patient though, it takes time to start feeling better and I used to have a lot of negative self talk too, like thinking I wasn't good enough and whatever. I realized that I was my own worst critic, and that I was being way harder on myself than I would ever be with a friend, and that I had better make friends with myself because I deserved to be treated well. I found that positive affirmations really help too. Tell yourself you're beautiful, confident, attractive, sexy, etc. At first it feels rather silly, but eventually it starts to change the negative thoughts into positive ones. And who doesn't feel good when surrounded by positive vibes? Do yourself a favour and try it! You deserve it. good luck and take care :) |
